I spent this week hacking an old portable DVD player and here is my result (so far!). I give you the PiPlayer.

The DVD player has a composite input jack so the Pi outputs through composite rather than HDMI. The display is not super clear but works ok. I'm currently using some large cords to connect the composite output and sound to the player inputs. I'm hoping to find some cords I can just split and maybe solder directly to the circuit board inside. I will do another post once that's finished and show the insides of the player.
